Week 1: the church

Pastor and Author Bill Hybels writes, “The local church is the hope of the world. There is nothing more important that is happening in the world than the building, growing, and empowering of the local church.”

 

Week 2: hagar

In the midst of her desert wandering, the Lord met Hagar. Hagar replied back in faithfulness, “You are the God who sees me, for I have now seen the one who sees me.” 

 

 
 

week 3: David

As a shepherd, David fought off lions and bears to protect the flock. The experience prepared him for much bigger fights. In all, David saw the Lord as the mighty God who fought his battles

 

Week 4: Ruth

Ruth’s story gets off to a rough start: she is a young, childless widow in a society that honors mothers and wives.Ruth’s life is a powerful story of redemption, showing us God’s heart for the outsider.

 

Week 5: zacchaeus

In Zacchaeus’ community, righteous was the absolute last word they would have used to describe him. In many ways, the story of Zacchaeus is the story of what can happen in just one moment with Jesus.

 

Week 6: abraham

God calls Abraham and shapes the future of his family with this promise. Abraham is portrayed as an example of faith, affirming that the promises God made to Abraham extend to all who believe.

 

Week 7: a father's love

You have a Heavenly Father. Let that sink in for a moment. The God of the universe calls you His child.  His son or daughter. His beloved. And before this Father ever called you, this Father loved you.

 

Week 8: Moses

By many accounts, Moses is completely unqualified to complete this mission. The story of Moses, is the story of what happens when a capable god, meets an unqualified servant.
